Altshuler 

Mendel Altshuler, son of Jacob Jospeh and S (Sarah?) was a general merchant and speculator in Bloemhof. His family hailed from Lithuania. Mendel was born in 1885 and passed away in 1943. He was married to Sarah (nee Segal). She passed away in July 1974 and is also buried in Bloemhof.  The couple had seven children: Ida Blumberg, married to Julius, Meyer, Leslie, Moses, Minnie, Fanny Plehn (married to David Plehn) and Becky Ressman (married to Victor Ressman). The earliest reference we have to Mendel is in 1919 and he may have reached earlier. His son Moses Altshuler who owned a butchery in 1943.
