William Lewis was a Russian born Jew who married out to Wilhelmina Elizabeth Pienaar. The couple were married in Vyrubrg. From his tomb, we glean that he was Idel son of Mandil /Mendel and a Cohen. He was listed as a general merchant and a garage manager in another document. On his 1940 wedding certificate, he is listed as a hotelier.  At the time of his death, he was living at London/ Koosfontein near Schweizer-Reneke.
