There are four Gabbes buried in Bloemhof: Baby (date unclear), Daniel (1921), Rebecca (1933), and Jeannot (1936).
Daniel and Rebecca Gabbe were Courland Jews who made a home in Bloemhof. Rebecca was a Lenhoff (the family was prominent in Upington Jewry) and passed away on 7 May 1931, aged 51. She was the daughter of Leon and Lena Lenhoff. Daniel Gabbe, a general merchant in Bloemhof, passed away a year after his wife on 22 May 1922. He was the son of Selige Gabbe and was born in Goldingen (Kuldiga). The couple married in Libau, Latvia, and had five children: Sigfried, Arthur, Leon, Jeannot, and Edith. There were also Gabbes in nearby Wolmaransstad. Wulff Gabbe was a butcher.

Also buried in the local cemetery is Jeannot, who lived in Sweitzer Reineke. He was killed in a car accident. Jaennot, a bachelor and rep by profession, was the son of Abraham Gabbe, who lived in Pudimoe - between Vryburg and Taung. Abraham passed away in 1919 in Kimberley and is buried in the local cemetery. Abraham was the brother of Daniel and Wulf and his wife Rachel (nee Margolis) passed away in Latvia before they left for South Africa.
